In an April 2023 meeting of the Seattle City Council's Public Safety and Human Services Committee, members discussed steps to increase wages for nonprofit human services workers.
Below you will find images and links for the City Council's presentation and the research study it was based on.
The City Council funded a University of Washington study which found that human services workers are paid 30-37% less than jobs in other industries with similar skill sets and duties. See more information on the study here, including the full report and Executive Summary.
Included in the full report are these two tables, illustrating steps for implementing the researcher's recommendations, by sector and timescale.
